Don't Use These
Easy-to-Guess Passwords

If you're like most people, you use your pet's name, your spouse's name or the word "password" as your password. Required to add a digit or special character? Most just add a 1 or ! to the end. Cyberthieves know these tricks. A better idea is to use a unique password for each account. An article from Slate.com suggests creating a sentence related to the site then using an acronym based on the sentence. For a banking website, think, "Make deposits and withdrawals today." The acronym would be Mdaw2d. Safe, secure, easy to remember. Don't forget to change the passwords on office phone systems, smartphones and laptops, too.
