Business Issue

  • Createeasy to use FTP
  • Establish accurate routing
  • Enable the flow of information
  • Establish accurate reporting
  • Develop a system that communicates in multiple formats

Business Results

  • Improved routing efficiency
  • Reduced errors
  • Improved performance and stability

Managing the file transfer of mandatory reporting data between insurance carriers and rating organizations was burdensome and time-consuming. Data exchange was often hampered by incorrect routing and insecure or unstable means of transmission. In addition, maintaining updated, accurate routing information on each rating bureau was costly. To provide a secure, stable method of file transmission available to all insurance carriers no matter which format their data is in, Pragmatix created a web-based solution - the compensation data exchange system - which can receive, validate and distribute reporting files in multiple formats based on a receiver's stored preferences. The insurance carriers send their electronic files to a central repository (CDX) either by email, web upload or FTP. CDX verifies the sender before accepting the file and then performs a basic validation. The file is then stored for web pickup or forwarded by email or FTP based on a recipients stored preferences. Data is collected and validated. File outputs are used by the recipients to automatically feed into other internal systems. Available 24/7/365, the solution enables carriers to send files anytime in order to meet their reporting requirements. In addition, management reports are also available online.
